All the features described below appeared in TargetProcess v.2.14 (June-8)

Custom Fields: TargetProcess Entity

Problems: "I want to set custom relations between entities in TargetProcess. For example, dependent stories, related bugs, etc.".

Solution: Provide flexible mechanism to set relations via custom fields.

You may specify custom fields using TargetProcess Entities (Feature, Iteration, Release, User Story, Task, Build, etc). For example, you may associate Bug with Build using custom field, or associate Build with Feature, or even associate Iteration with Test Case if required. The solution is extremely flexible and you may set any relations you need.

Stories Dependency Management

Problem: Sometimes you have complex program with several projects and several development teams. Obviously, it is hard to avoid that all teams will work independently. In some cases a user story from project Alpha will depend on a user story from project Omega. How you may handle that in TargetProcess?.

Solution: A powerful Custom Fields concept may serve your needs. For example, you may create “Depends On” custom field for user story and select a user story from the project Omega to show the dependency explicitly.

TestTrackPro: Bi-directional Integration

Problem: "We are using TargetProcess and TestTrackPro heavily. We want to be able to update bugs in both products and have them in sync with no additional effort".

Solution: Provide full two-ways integration on bug updates between TargetProcess and TestTrackPro.

Builds Management

Problem: "I want to add custom fields, comments, attachments to Build. I want to search for Builds and do all the other action as for usual entity in TargetProcess".

Solution: Make Build a usual entity.

Now you may create custom fields for builds, add comments and attachments, search for builds, etc.

Also Build View has two new tabs:

• Working Items. Contains all stories, bugs and tasks that were completed in this build.
• Source. Contains all source code associated with stories/tasks/bugs in this build.

Better Permissions

Problem: Sometimes you need to restrict permissions on People. For example, you don’t want to allow a customer see other customers in People area.

Solution: Restrict permissions for the specific Role. Just create a new role and disable access to People area.

Assign Tasks Quickly

Problem: "It is hard to find people in a long list. Also if I want to assign a user story to myself it takes time to find my name in the list".

Solution: Now you may quickly assign story or task to yourself. If you need to assign it to someone else, grouping by Roles help to find required person.

Other Improvements

Known Issues

• Sometimes automatic installer hangs and can't detect .NET Framework SP1. This problem is pretty random and we are looking for resolution.
